School Teacher
Grandparents & Home Schooling
There seems to be a steady increase in the number of grandparents that are taking on additional roles within the family. As more working parents are having to devote their time to working and earning a decent income, grandparents are stepping in to fill the void. From full time babysitting to home schooling, grandparents are doing it all. Home schooling is very important to some families. It is a personal preference, one that more parents want to be involved with. When that is just not possible, it can truly be a gift to the children to have the educational time spent with their grandparents instead.
Schooling on any level is very serious and requires a vast amount of commitment. Grandparents that take on this role have a lot of work cut out for them. Kids can be a tough bunch to keep all going at a steady pace, especially when home schooling many of them. The first thing grandparents need to do when conducting school at home is to have a proper schedule for everyone to follow. This should include lesson time as well as accurately scheduled breaks. Kids can only work for so long before they need to take a few minutes to relax and give their minds a break.
